We have too many problems in this country with a lot of people including asylum seekers, committing numerous crimes, driving cars without insurance, without driving license and without tax.
As long as the police force here (known to be the best in the world) were the ones in charge of the cameras that would be fine in my view, but don't let the Labour politiciana get their grubby little hands on them, they would find ever more reasons to increase our tax burden which is now the highest in Europe.

Df'd 4 years ago after a lifetime of service. Born into d troof, baptised at 18, MS for years, gave public talks etc etc - absolutely wasted my life.
Like to think that if I wasn't DF'd then I would be out by now as I had been trying to fade for many many years -

I couldn't care less how many cameras are looking at me every day as I have nothing to hide.
Just must make sure that I've combed my hair before I leave the house! -

Welcome to the forum.
I had left the Wittos for a couple of years before I 'dared' to post here - there is nothing to worry about, you will find a big diversity of opinions and a whole bunch of friends.
All the best,

I at first thought this thread was about the Automobile Association in the UK - I thought what would be wrong about the Witnesses being members of a breakdown recovery organisation, then I realised you meant Alcoholics Annonymous.

The Office UK or The Office US
by jrjr4189 infor those who have seen both shows, what is the better of the two in terms of humor?
i know that the original uk office was revolutionary but the us version seems to hit my funny bone a little harder.
your thoughts?.

I absolutely raved about The Office from the very first episode!
It's humour (sorry - humor!) was both cringeworthy, subtle and in your face.
Ricky Gervais is outstanding in this role, Gareth was cast perfectly too and what about Finchy the salesman oh and Dawns on off relationships? It's all floodiing back to me now - I haven't seen the USA version but I expect it was tailored for the US market so probably not so funny to us but I have to agree with other posters that even though a lot of English humour is diferent to that accross the pond, some USA sitcoms are hilarious. -

Sex with your divorced mate scripturally wrong?
by Fatfreek inlets say youre a jw married couple, get a divorce (unscriptural divorce, that is, so in jehovahs eyes you are still married), then both of you change your minds.
well, not completely.
you both realize the sex was great but your other needs and wants have changed in opposite directions.

Nice and to the point as usual KatieK!
I was going to say that you don't beat about the bush, but that saying could be open to all sorts of interpretation!!!! -

Have you ever had an encounter with a UFO?
by free2beme inwhen i was about 16 years old, a group of us friends would go hiking a lot on the weekend.
we would rough it to some degree, just a sleeping back and sleeping under the stars.
one night, while hiking into a lake in northern california, we all were sleeping in a clearing just out of legal distance from a small mountain lake we liked to fish in.

Why am I not surprised that this thread is predominantly American?
Apparently virtually all the UFO sightings in the world have been made in America.
Uh huh, of course they have! -

Why would God speak in symbols if he really wanted us to understand?
by rebel8 inif i was a deity and wanted people to know "the truth", i would just say it in plain language instead of veiling everything in symbolism, innuendo, and vague hints.
what does that method of communication accomplish?.
if i remember correctly, the borg answer to that is this method of communicating tricks the bad people but the good people can figure it out just fine.

Yes I totally agree with others on this thread in asking why the Bible and religion in general is all so complicated and diverse?
If there were only one way of worshipping god which would be acceptable to him, wouldn't he make it abundantly clear which way it was?
Also, many millions, possibly billions of people worldwide slavishly follow the religion they are born into and there is no way that they are going to change due to the fanatacism and cultural pressure of it all, and don't tell me that god calls the honest hearted ones and those calling out to him because if that's the case then there are not many honest hearted ones around.
